The dragon hunters of mirth
“This is not a sprint, it is a marathon.”
-Author Craig Martelle on success in writing
Hello from Rogue Destiny,
It’s been a while since my last newsletter, but the writing continues, and the battle for excellence goes on. I was supposed to have a story up on Amazon’s new format Kindle Vella when it debuted in July, but alas, I did not. I was writing a new story for Vella at the time, but it seems when you have a story called The Dragon Hunters of Mirth- A Rogue Destiny Story there is an expectation among readers of having dragons in the story. A tiny oversight on my part, needless to say.
Readers can be so picky. But after a quick rewrite of the opening episodes, the story now has dragons!
So what is Kindle Vella, and why should you care? It is Amazon’s attempt to grab a market share of the shorter episodic stories that are quite popular across the interwebs. Each episode has from 500 to 6000 words, with the first three episodes being free to the reader.
After the three free episodes, you can continue reading any story that may have caught your fancy by purchasing tokens. Amazon gives you the first 200 tokens for free and after that they’re relatively inexpensive. This is all experimental on Amazon’s part and may be a great success, or a grand failure. No one knows at this point.
So if you want to check out my Kindle Vella story (now with dragons), I have attached the link below. And if you like the story be should to hit the ‘Like’ button or give my me a ‘Favorite’, so my story moves up the ranking for more readers to see. You can also write a little review too if you’d like.

And if any of you have a finger hovering over the unsubscribe button, don’t do it! You will want to be here for next month’s newsletter. Why? Because I’ll be displaying the finalized cover for the first Rogue Destiny novel which will be out in October. Thanks for following my writing adventures and stay safe out there.
